Rain gauge to the NE of Ross recorded 30mm of rain in just over half and hour. Radar estimates suggest probably nearer 50mm in Ross. No UK drainage system can cope with that volume of water. For each degree of atmospheric heating the air holds 7% more water.

Visited the NWSC 🇺🇬 sewage treatment facility in Mbale. The challenges of growth and rainwater overloading sewer networks is not just a UK issue. MINISTRY OF WATER AND ENVIRONMENT 🇺🇬 has secured World Bank funding to expand this facility

On the way back to Entebbe we have dropped in on Kampala Sewage Works, biggest in central Africa. Thanks to the team at NWSC 🇺🇬 for showing us around.
