At a funeral today, we were all given a packet of forget-me-not seeds to plant later. A lovely way to remember someone who meant so much to family, friends, pupils and the church community.

Commiserations to all those who had outdoor plans today but it has been so wonderful to see a sensible, though not excessive, amount of rain this morning. It just feels so much fresher. Having various indoor tasks to get on with today has been good too.

I’d kept intending to phone a friend for a catch-up and finally managed it today. Wonderful both to talk and to hear about everything she’s been doing.

Wishing Nicholas McCarthy all the very best for his BBC Proms debut this evening. We saw him at Warwick Arts Centre a few years ago and have watched his progress ever since.
