I'll never forget asking my Uber driver for advice on what to tell a group of educators. She said, “They have to enter the kids’ world. They have to relate to them.” She said not everyone has had a mother or a father in their life… but everyone has had a teacher they remember.

The ultimate goal of education is to create a better society. If educators are not advocating for social justice, we’re not doing our job. White educators... if we don’t understand how current events represent the legacy of white supremacy, we need to work harder at it.
