Smartphones kill childhoods, and lockers are the easy solution Also, uniforms should be standard at all public schools. I said what I said.

Unsurprisingly, the Financial Times is reporting that Japan does not agree with Lutnick's description of the deal - and that there is no written agreement for the $550 billion. Lutnick has been saying taxpayers will get 90% of the profits from these factories - Japan says profits

The British trade deal wasn't what they said it was, the Vietnamese won't confirm Trump's announcement, and the Japanese say they're not signing a binding agreement. The White House has released the text of ZERO deals, and maybe it's all just social media posts all the way down.

It is very strange reading headlines implying that the country that is unilaterally making things more expensive for its own people is somehow "winning" relative to places that are not

Universal healthcare would be astronomically cheaper than our current system, would be the number one impact that could be immediately made to reduce the deficit, and the fact that this is not a widely known, accepted and argued for service is proof of the power of corporate

May-June-July is the weakest 3-month period of job growth since COVID. If you throw out 2020, it's the weakest 3-month period since 2010 and the aftermath of the Great Recession.

Day in Trump's economy: > Wake up, check the news > BLS: "10 billion new jobs created" > Check my phone to see what today's tariff rates are. > Norway up 20%, Cambodia down 5% > Go to my iphone assembly line job where I make $7.25/hour > Spend next 4 hours putting chips inside

Amazing. Expects to find bias. Finds none. Which is what you would expect if BLS is doing their job well. Reverses course and claims BLS lack of bias means their forecasts have no “signal” and that is bad? Incoherent. Ends with gratuitous call for better methods.

Every time I hear him speak, I remember Canada picked an economist trained at Oxford, and Mexico chose a physicist with a PhD. While we chose a racist, sexual predator with the ethics of a bankrupt carnival barker, because electing a woman was a step too far.

Do you know what I did before I became a writer? I was a private investigator and a damn good one. And IMO EVERYTHING they are telling you about Epstein, Trump, Maxwell and the rest is a COVER UP.

The economy was in fine shape when Biden left office. GDP growth in 2024 was 2.9%. Average hourly earnings rose 4.1% in 2024. Unemployment was 4%. Prime-age labor-force participation was at a 20-year high.

I've been on this platform a long time. 17 yrs. Almost exclusively talking energy. If I had told you then that we were going to be time-shifting GWs of power, in Texas of all places, w/Li-Ion batteries, I would have been laughed at. But it's happening every day.

There's a new 2025 peak demand record in ERCOT: 82,566 megawatts at 4:55 today. Solar provided 30% of the power at that time and wind about 16%; wholesale power was just $22/MWh. No conservation alerts. No energy emergencies. Just abundant, affordable power. #txlege #txenergy
