terry christian I'm no mathematician but I suppose it's the odds of not drawing each other in each round 1/64, 1/32 etc, then times that by the odds of getting through each round(dependant on op).
Has it ever happen before?
terry christian 0.001% (quick calculation!)
If all teams are equal:
•3% chance of a team getting to the final (64 teams from 3rd round).
•0.01% of both getting to final in a season.
Maybe.
terry christian The stats speak for themselves, since the first FA cup competition in 1872 only once have the same two teams found themselves in the final in consecutive years.
Jon Goddard 🇪🇺🇺🇦 terry christian Man City probably have a 1/3 chance of reaching the final under Pep. Man U probably have a 1/124 chance (likely to be knocked out by any random team 😆) so that would be 1/372. That twice in row would be 1/138384
terry christian That’s a tricky calculation, I suppose you’d have to factor in the probability (or odds) for each team against there opponents in each round and the odds of them not being drawn against each other at each round. On this basis, the odds would be highly unlikely.
