What a lovely story about how the salmon pharming industry is starving west Africans of their staple diet in order to feed morons who don’t know or care about how toxic the industry is. How #sustainable and #EcoFriendly fishfarmermagazine.com/2024/09/05/fis…

The UK banned industrial sand-eel fishing in our seas to protect seabirds & whales that depend on them & ensure thriving seas. The EU is challenging this so the Danish fleet can exploit for intensive aquaculture, salmon farms, and feed to pigs. Defra UK keep the ban.

Treatment plants aren't required to test for PFAS, + there's no legal limit on how much PFAS can be released into a river, so newly created PFOS + PFOA are released, legally, into waterways or sewers from current+ historic landfill sites. theguardian.com/environment/20…

New research shows #PFAS mixtures are more toxic than individual compounds. These #foreverchemicals mixtures may pose greater risks to health & the environment than first thought. We need stricter PFAS regulations ⬇️ theguardian.com/environment/20…

From today, it's an offence to set a snare in Scotland for the purpose of killing or restraining a wild animal Wales banned snares last year Snares are not yet banned in England, where 200,000 of these traps lie hidden in the countryside at any one time #wildlife

I’m determined the public know about the abusive practice of the salmon farming industry. Diseased, lice-ridden fish dumped on our beaches. The same fish swam gill to gill with the ones sold in supermarkets. thetimes.com/uk/scotland/ar…

This must be stopped- they are literally taking the food from mouths of whales Krill can remove as much as 23 megatons of c02 from the atmosphere annually. and supports the diets of several whale species, including the largest animals to ever exist, seabirds, seals, and more.

Sweden has done “river restoration”, and found the problem isn’t there. The perfect river doesn’t protect smolts dying at sea from salmon farm lice, disease & being starved by industrial fishing for fishmeal. This industrial might can be tackled - stop eating farmed #salmon 🍣

In a world that was not insane, a 20% drop in butterflies would be a national new story and would provoke horror and a national movement to restore them. But not in this world of money and bullshit.
