MPs declared more than £6m in ‘freebies’ since 2010. Almost half given in last two years. Parliament is an open bazar for trading influence/favours, disadvantaging normal people. Must criminalise receipt and payment of political donations. theguardian.com/politics/2024/…

I am eternally grateful that we have experts that are better and cleverer than those making the decisions. Retaining and supporting workforce is critical to all our futures

Great so the guy who did the original piece of work has changed his mind and it now looks like it will cost the state. Well done Labour, pretty much like everyone else predicted.

Parents anyway pay for state education through their taxes. If they take an independent school place, that contribution doesn’t reduce. There is no tax break to remove. #Budget #EducationTax

Thank you 💙Rachael Maskell MP for speaking out with your concerns about your party's #EducationTax. Children pay the price above all. Matt Rodda, you published a paper on the harms of unplanned (in-year) transfers on kids. What do you think about this tax? telegraph.co.uk/money/vat-raid…

ICYMI The latest NELA report is now available 👇 ow.ly/oeHE50TRuBZ 🔹 2 in 3 older patients don't receive geriatrician-led input despite this reducing mortality risk. 🔹 14% of high-risk patients don't receive immediate postoperative critical care, contrary to guidance.

Greece made the mistake of imposing VAT on private school fees in 2015. The policy was reversed before the end of the year in utter chaos with immense damage done to children, teachers & school infrastructure ⁦Rachel Reeves⁩ ⁦Bridget Phillipson⁩ greekreporter.com/2015/09/01/gre…

So obvious that Rachel Reeves is totally incapable of being Chancellor, the problem #Labour have is that none of the front bench are capable and we will all suffer!

Susan Hall AM Rachel Reeves We all suffer... An education secretary Bridget Phillipson that thinks it's a good idea to tax educating children, including those with special educational needs. It's a low benchmark indeed. 👇x.com/NoEducationTax…

HM Treasury It’s not a VAT break it’s an enforcement of VAT on parents to pay 20% more. The money that you will need in residual services such as CAHMs, litigation, SEND provision, and capital projects will outweigh the ability to invest. With a 40k deficit in teaching staff and growing.

HM Treasury This advert is an abuse of impartiality of the civil service! I’ve never seen anything on this scale under any previous administration of any colour !

🚨 Starmer’s government have recommended a doctor pay cut 🚨 .Wes Streeting and Rachel Reeves need to know that this is NOT a generation that accepts Doctor pay cuts. We gave the UK that for 14 years. The time of more for less is over.

So in October, Bridget Phillipson and the labour party were using a report from the National Audit Office to demonstrate how broken SEND services were in our state schools. Bridget Phillipson and The Labour Party were posting the findings of this report far and wide in order to demonstrate why

I’m puzzled. Labourites tell us that Angela Rayner was only trying to look after her child which they quite rightly say is understandable. But when a farmer tries to look after his children, they say he’s a tax dodger.
