Went through the roof and I am now sitting here waiting for the days where you just went to work to see people die. Where they died alone, away from their families. Hearing the cries and screams over the telephone after we told them their loved one didn’t make it.

Where they were on the most aggressive care and you and your team poured everything you could only to have them die anyways. Where each day was darker than the last. Where you got used to people dying rather than living. Fuck. I’m not ready to face that again. 💔

ICU Nurse Life Sending you 🩺❤️ and 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼. I am definitely seeing more Nurses share feelings of Trauma during this pandemic & feelings of impeding fear heading into another wave. The words and feelings you share here very cPTSD/PTSD-like. I highly recommend a Trauma Counselor to help you.

Wanna know what a PTSD trigger is? Tonight I was cutting into my baked potato and it opened up and it brought back images of the time I admitted a trauma and they opened him at bedside and his dead bowels came spilling out and he exsanguinated and died.

Dirty Thirty RN I remember being told to move beds into unused units at the very beginning. So eerie getting those dark and quiet rooms ready for something I couldn’t even understand at the time.
