OTD 1968 Red Rum won the Waterdale Selling Handicap Doncaster Racecourse, his third & final victory on the Flat. Trained by Tim Molony & ridden by Geoff Lewis. Flat career in Pic 3. Nearly 5 years to the day (31st March '73) his Grand National stardom would begin.🏇👏 #RacingMemories





OTD 1985 John Francome rode a 4-timer Huntingdon Racecourse. Julesian, Gratification, Rhythmic Pastimes & Fred Winter-trained Gambler's Cup; John's 1,138th & last winner. The next day The Reject fell Chepstow Racecourse & the 7 x Champion jockey retired. Great jockey.🏇🌟#RacingMemories



OTD 1983 Geoff Wragg-trained Teenoso (Steve Cauthen) won April Maiden Stakes Newmarket Racecourse by 8 lengths. In June, Teenoso won the Derby by 3 lengths in very heavy ground, slowest Derby since Common in 1891. Ridden by Lester Piggott his 9th Derby win - record. 🏇#RacingMemories
