OTD 1972: Meriel Tufnell rode Peter Bailey-trained Scorched Earth (50-1) to victory in the Goya Stakes at Kempton Park, becoming first woman to win under Rules. The race was the first in 12 race series for female jockeys, Meriel was series champion with 3 wins.๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ‘#RacingMemories
