Now my book - The Postal Paths - is out, I am starting to get some great feedback. A woman from a village in Yorkshire has got in touch to tell me about the postman's hut in her garden (now used as a shed) - somewhere for the postie to relax halfway on his 14-mile daily walk!

A tree with a view. Recreating wood pasture, the natural eco-system of the Moors. Eventually the beef cattle will have mature trees to rub on. It’ll take time, but you have to make a start…

Spain aims to ban flushing of wet wipes, with manufacturers paying for cleanup; and the same bill will ban the release of balloons. Why can’t we do the same? theguardian.com/environment/20…

#OnThisBoroDay - 1981: Gazette veteran Cliff Mitchell retires after 44 years at the paper and 33 as the #Boro man. The entire post-war period. Over in folklore corner, here's that time the players burned his jinxed new trilby after a 3 game nosedive in Feb 1974.

Interesting Fact of the Day: If Robert Jenrick were to catch 50 fare dodgers a day, recouping £2.90 each time for the taxpayer, it would take him well over 1,000 years to recoup the amount the taxpayer lost when he helped a major Tory donor avoid a £45m tax bill back in 2020.

I'm waiting for the video of Robert Jenrick chasing tax dodgers - including his former cabinet colleagues - and asking them if they think it's right not pay. But it doesn't seem to have been posted yet.
