A self seeded tree in-between the lines at Leicester Railway Station. It doesn't take much for rewilding to take place! Has anyone got other examples?

Attended the Francis Review of the National Curriculum event at Darlington. Meryl Batchelder and I unfurled stripe banner showing the climate and biodiversity crises. Meryl appealed for this to be a central issue in curriculum reform given the existential. Much applause!

Belated Happy World Soil Day. Soil degradation is much overlooked and its capacity to sequester carbon from the atmosphere. So let's hear it for the dirt! Read the book and see the film 'Six Inches of Soil'. sixinchesofsoil.org

This is it: we are on the brink of stopping new oil and gas drilling for good. The government has paused approving new fields while it asks the public, what we think should happen. The gov stands on the side of people over oil and gas bosses. Sign here: actionnetwork.org/petitions/have…

Dear Tesco's , please help the planet by abolishing plastic waste and sourcing far more locally produced seasonal food rather than bringing in so much from abroad (affordable for all & not exploiting farmers). Also stop supplying fast fashion and high embodied carbon 'stuff'.

Dear Tesco's, further to my last message please help to save the planet by installing solar panels on your large roof spaces and have better insulated stores. Could include more barriers on fridges to keep cold in. Every little helps!

Chancellor Rachel Reeves says that economic growth trumps other concerns. It seems that these 'concerns' include addressing climate change and biodiversity loss. These concerns are also largely discounted in the present English National Curriculum review. 'Age of Stupid' or what?

Nice to see the bike racks being used during a busy time at Tesco's Hexham. Pity this didn't include cyclists. Perhaps this is because certain traffic issues are being ducked.

Pleased to get a good write up from Andrew Garrad of the North East Combined Authority on the relevance of the school leader workshops I'm delivering in the North East. shorturl.at/HJbMO

We agree with DEFRA Secretary Steve Reed who wanted to “see the #CANBill succeed.” Steve, will you call on Keir Starmer to give the Climate and Nature Bill the time it deserves? We need The Labour Party to back, not block, the CAN Bill. x.com/zerohour_uk/st…
