A 32-year-old woman who was stabbed at Carnival yesterday remains in a critical condition in hospital. We are appealing for anyone with information about further violence that may take place today to come forward. Below is a message from DAC Ade Adelekan.

Today we remember Nottinghamshire Police Sergeant Graham Saville, who sadly passed away a year ago today on the railway whilst responding to a concern for the welfare of a man on 24 August. Our thoughts and condolences remain with his family, friends, and colleagues.

It was a huge honour to recognise colleagues and public today, at The BMA House in London, who have done exceptional work. Live-saving interventions, bringing violent offenders to justice, and an officer who was praised by Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for how they dealt with a male in crisis.

This week some of our amazing officers received commendations which recognised their outstanding courage, bravery, and commitment in policing. Commendations were given out for specific incidents where lives were saved and crimes prevented. #WeAreProudToProtect #BTP

Yesterday Rakeem Miles, 24, was sentenced to 8 years in prison with a 13-year extended licence period for manslaughter. Samuel Winter lost his life in an unprovoked attack at a London Underground station last summer.
