James Machin Might not be much, but Some public libraries have this: accesstoresearch.org.uk
Also alumni access to you former university resources (as staff or student) might provide a fraction of papers from home, or walk in access to a little more

James Machin I’m very sorry to hear this. Are you a member of The London Library? Members can access most scholarly online resources, and it makes a world of difference.

Penny dropping slowly that I am an ex-academic. After the obvious – losing the job(s) – it’s a slow death. Emails don’t get through since not from an institutional address. Losing library online resources. (cont.)

Rebecca Healey PhD Forum The PhD Place Academic Mom, PhD I know that feeling, sending you a big hug! Are you able to take a short break to recharge and disconnect from the PhD for a moment? I feel sometimes my brain is on overdrive which makes it worse and I need to do a “clean up”.

10 Great Historical Books
1) As Gods Among Men - Guido Alfani
A terrific work, covering inequality from a novel angle: how 'the rich' have been perceived in the West over centuries. Highly readable, breaking into themes, types of wealth and the role of 'the rich' over time.

In which a middle-aged and middle-ranking academic thought to make a few quiet points about universities and mental health, and instead the whole thing got a bit out of hand. Ooops. You might as well read it anyway. voicesofacademia.com/2024/04/05/its…
