Deadlines are the key to me for getting things done. So I promise things for my supervisors, apply to a conference or writing workshop where I know I need to complete something before the date.

Today practicing my presentation with ChatGPT’s audio chat. At the end I prompted it to ask me more challenging questions as well. It actually came up with many great questions that I believe an actual professor might ask as well.

Next up is finding a printer for the poster, I got a great tip to print it on a fabric so I can fold it in my suitcase. Luckily I live in China where printing is affordable, my travel grant that I’m lucky to get, only covers plane tickets and half of conference fees.

Ordering business cards today and there are so many decision to make, only hoping I won’t find a typo as soon as I receive them 😅

Another exciting thing about joining the conference next month, are all the Chinese speaking PhD students that I have connected with online so far. As I’ve lived in China for all of my adulthood, I bet hearing Chinese in Madrid will make me feel right at home! ☺️

Only three weeks to PLL5 conference by IAPLL , when is the right time to start freaking out as this is my first conference?

Excitedly showed my poster design to my 8 year old for her to say “Mom, I’ve already seen that”. So apparently she isn’t quite as excited as I am 😅

Taking a break coding my qualitative data and coding my literature review articles instead. I feel going between data analysis and reading theory / past literature, helps me to understand both better.

I still can’t believe it! But I’ll wait for the foundation to either send the emails or the tweet, to share my good news 😊 After 7 denied applications, hard work can really pay off!

I think I just got some AMAZING news, but I’m scared cause I haven’t received an email yet. I’m crying in the metro and missed my stop 😂
