I can’t stop thinking about this figure published in JAMA Cardiology last week. This is truly gut wrenching. Young Black adults (ages 15-44) have THREE FOLD HIGHER heart failure-related age-adjusted mortality rates compared to White individuals.

What are we going to do about this?

There is so much wrong in the world but today I got to tell a patient that their cancer was no longer detectable and, without violating their privacy, they wanted me to share that: “Dr. Lewis, I want other people to know & have hope that this disease isn’t a death sentence”
