I’m proud of Northumbria Police for the thorough investigation that has led to these charges being brought today.

How will the Tories fund their £46bn a year commitment? Currently this money goes to fund pensions and the NHS.

We were lucky enough to meet with Chi Onwurah 💙 and to be given a guided tour of parts of the Houses of Parliament by Catherine McKinnell who taught us about some of the interesting history. The children were keen to ask their local MPs a range of challenging questions.

Together we can create thousands more green jobs in offshore wind and manufacturing on the rivers and ports that define our North East.

On Thursday 2nd May we elect our first North East Mayor. Vote The Labour Party. I’ll be the Mayor that makes our region the home of real opportunity.

Today it was Education Questions in Parliament — perhaps the last time before the General Election.

The Shadow Education team were again holding Ministers to account for the mess they’ve made of our children’s future.

Then Shadow Schools Minister Catherine McKinnell asked Ministers about the soaring scale of child poverty.

Labour will cut costs for families with free breakfast clubs in primary schools and new rules to keep down the cost of uniforms.
