#OnThisDay 1923 Five Free State soldiers were killed by an IRA booby trap mine in Knocknagoshel, Kerry. They were lured into a field with false info of a IRA dugout in a field. The next day the Free State Army exacted their revenge IRA prisoners in Ballyseedy.

#OTD in 1921, March 7 Limerick was shocked to learn of the death of two #Limerick Mayors, one being Grange man George Clancy shot in front of his wife in his home by RIC Auxiliaries.
His predecessor Michael O'Callaghan also shot dead at his home nearby.
