We trekked and picked until the cans were full, Until the tinkling bottom had been covered With green ones, and on top big dark blobs burned Like a plate of eyes. Our hands were peppered With thorn pricks, our palms sticky as Bluebeard's. Blackberry-Picking, Seamus Heaney

Dear estate agents/auctioneers, vendors, if you are clearing out old solicitor’s offices, please contact county archives or local history societies before you skip irreplaceable archives. I just heard that two skips containing boxes of archival material ended up in landfill.

I am currently researching and writing a book on the women of Ennis Cumann na mBan which will focus on their lives before, during and after the revolutionary period. I would love to talk to the relatives of these women to bring their stories out of the shadows....
