'I want my catheter taken out. I want a shower. I want a change of clothes. I want my mum. I want a fucking yoghurt. Do you know what literally never occurs to me? Whether Norma and Merle were assigned female at birth.'

Before gender medicine was widely available safely under medical supervision, we used to be forced to rely on extreme doses of conjugated equine estrogens found in common OTC beauty creams. Blocking access to safe care will do nothing but force people to make unsafe choices.

the idea that sexual orientation is 'fixed' from a young age but that gender identity isn't is pure wishcasting. I discuss this in my 'Trans People and Biological Sex: What the Science Says' video at the 26 minute mark (watch thru 48 min for full context): youtube.com/watch?v=ZymYiw…

The anti-trans crowd will talk constantly about trans people being a threat to privacy and then promote videos of people filming strangers in bathrooms.

More to Ben's thesis--that the 1973 APA decision was not a contest of political will like trans care--here is how the NYTimes covered the APA's decision to depathologize homosexuality. They even note a petition of 200 psychiatrists outraged at the APA for bowing to activists.

I remember like it was just last week that I warned people that this story from the Guardian was coming and was accused of spreading “misinformation”

The implication of 'trans-identified' is that trans people are not experts in our own experience and thus need someone to verify who we are. One reason discourse about trans care is so broken is it regards your gender to be as measurable and definable as your blood sugar levels.
