you can’t really reduce low support needs/verbal autism to being simply socially awkward though. yes in some ways you can learn how to perform better socially but that’s masking & leads to burnout. autism at its core is a processing disorder. it goes way beyond social faux pas.

People need to realize that unless you are severely neurotypical, misunderstanding autistics is something you can fix with practice. Understanding autistic people is a skill like any skill. Some people are born with natural ability, most people have to learn through practice
