As countries move to meet the UN Biodiversity #30X30 target, it is critical to understand how diverse management (protected areas, #OECMs, conserved areas) can safeguard biodiversity- see our paper, led by @MarineCons, tackling this (now out formatted)doi.org/10.1111/cobi.1… 1/4

We examined 80 MPAs and locally managed areas in 6 countries, & found these areas had diverse rules & social & ecological objectives, & that all types of rules, objectives & managed areas had some sites that were able to sustain high levels of fish biomass 2/4

What does including #CommunityKnowledge in #NaturalResourceManagement mean? In Ecology & Society, Kayla Hamelin, PhD, Charles, & Megan Bailey report a scoping review about #FisheriesManagement. They recommend greater clarity of terms & strengthened communication doi.org/10.5751/ES-145…

Our new paper in nature Ocean Sustainability, explores the potential to achieve #seafood "independence" in the US. While there is a lot of attention on all the seafood we import, perhaps we should focus on what we produce. nature.com/articles/s4418… Tolulope Oyikeke Sahir Advani
