Thrilled 😻 😁💃🏾 to share the final version of our manuscript on Luzula holocentromeres now in Nature Communications. Great collaborations during this project 🙌🏾💪🏾. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Very happy to see anna-liisa laine's & my article out in Science Magazine today! We reveal that the more a plant species invests in defense, the less potential it has for growth. All made possible by lots of public data & amazing open science contributions! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

My entire team wrote an opinion paper about Common misconceptions of speciation research. Each section is written by 1-2 team members. The bulk of the writing happened during two writing retreats. It was a lot of fun and I am very happy with the result. academic.oup.com/evolinnean/art…

We’re delighted to share our latest preprint from the Hogenhout lab (Saskia Hogenhout, John Innes Centre) on the molecular mechanisms of plant-aphid interactions. We show how the aphid Mp10 effector protein acts as a local anesthetic, suppressing plant perception of aphid attack.

We're happy to present a pre-print from the Hogenhout lab (Saskia Hogenhout), describing how a family of proteases in aphid oral secretions suppress plant immunity

Exciting news! The latest hifiasm release from Haoyu Cheng and Heng Li adds beta support for Oxford Nanopore simplex R10 reads. Initial results look very promising. 🚀 Check it out: github.com/chhylp123/hifi…"

Honored and excited to receive an European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant. Big thanks to my colleagues, former mentors, and my amazing lab members. Together, we will explore cell type evolution across timescales, from population variation to regulatory sequences across phyla.
