Last year we launched the online MBA Archive; a treasure trove for marine biology enthusiasts! If you're interested in historic research papers, correspondence between scientists, or documents on a specific species, there's a good chance we have it in our collection.

By 1902 the library was overflowing with books! Government support & foreign exchange agreements enriched the collection, including the Challenger Expedition Reports. The library was housed on the buildings top floor until 1931, thriving as a hub for marine science! 📚

Since its establishment, the MBA recognised the importance of library facilities to support scientific research. A public appeal for books & periodicals formed a dedicated library committee and sparked the creation of the now National Marine Biological Library in 1887.
