Woo hoo, it is finally happening!!! Canada is sending a rover to the Moon! And I am super excited to be the Rover Science Principal Investigator for this mission led by Canadensys Aerospace!!! To the #Moon! @westernu 🇨🇦🌙

Fun and productive morning getting set up to start logging drill core from various 🇨🇦 meteorite impact structures - this collection of >9 km of core is on long term loan to Earth Sciences from Geological Survey/Commission géologique Canada Natural Resources as part of the #ImpactEarth initiative impactearth.com

Great to be back out in the field at the Kamestastin (Mistastin) Lake impact structure - here Jeremy R. Hansen & Dr. Jenni Gibbons check out impact melt rocks produced by the impact event 35 million yrs ago #Kamestastin2023

Did you know that one of the most Moonlike places in the world is in Canada? Right now, NASA & Canadian Space Agency astronauts that will head to the Moon for the first time since the Apollo program are training w/Gordon Oz Osinski for their journey in Kamestastin Crater, Labrador. (1/n)

This isn't the first time astronauts have headed up to Labrador for training—if you want to learn more about what it's like & how they get up there, check out this great discussion w/Dr. Cass Marion & Joshua Kutryk about their 2021 expedition: (5/n) youtube.com/watch?v=dvjSoC…
