Today for me is all about British cinema from the likes of Ben Wheatley, Alice Lowe, Steve Oram, Gareth Tunley, Julian Barrett and Simon Farnaby.

Movie Recommendation: THE GHOUL (2016) Mind-trip British film that blurs the lines tween folk horror, psychological thriller, and police procedural. Cop goes undercover to investigate a psychotherapist with ties to a series of murders and begins to lose grip on his own reality.

"I call my depression, The Ghoul. It comes & you can't get rid of it. The Ghoul can be anywhere it wants. It hollows you out, it clings to you. Other people can see it on you & they're frightened in case it leaps off of you & on to them, so they stay away. That's what it wants."

THE GHOUL (2016) Gareth Tunley’s directorial debut is one of the most haunting British films this century. A crafty take on psychotherapy and the lingering effects on the patient all shrouded with the mystique of the occult. Defies expectations at every beat.

For fave films on #WyrdWednesday I’m going for The Ghoul, by Gareth Tunley (2016). It’s a disorientating dive into the fragmented mind of a protagonist who is hooked into an endless loop of reality. Dark, dreamlike and wyrd indeed.

Recently watched The Ghoul on ARROW and it was the first movie since maybe Lost Highway that made we immediately sit down and re-watch the first 15 minutes again when it was over. Highly recommended.

Just watched "The Ghoul" (2016). Absolute mind bender of a film. I'm definitely gonna have to do a rewatch, might even need one with the directors commentary too. And, at a slick 85 minutes, I reckon it's perfect for 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest
