Hisayasu Satō’s Re-Wind aka Celluloid Nightmares is very much my kind of movie. A fantastically weird, blood-soaked techno-nightmare told through camcorder haze and CRT static. What more could you ask for?

Is it odd to say there's something relaxing about Sato’s Love Letter in the Sand? The steady patter of rain against glass, the crash of waves on the beach, and the soft, dancing reflections of pool water in…a morgue. It all morphs into a cold, sterile - beautiful thriller.

I’ve been watching SPEC: Birth this week and absolutely loving it. Yukihiko Tsutsumi brings his usual eccentric flair, Erika Toda kills it, and the ending theme by The Ricecookers can’t be skipped. I’m on episode 8 now, and I can’t wait to see how the story ends.

Onee Chanbara ORIGIN is bonkers and i love it. Between Silent Hill F and this, it actually feels good to sit down and play games again. It’s been a while honestly, but I’m really trying to use my downtime for something that isn’t just doom-scrolling myself into oblivion.
