Yesterday, after 24 hours of no obvious change, the Orange-tip caterpillar rapidly transformed. The first two pics were taken around two hours apart. The third is how it appeared this morning showing the full chrysalis. That’s it until next spring. #butterflies #caterpillars

Campanula bees, or Blunthorn bees were very much in evidence today flitting quickly in and out of the many bell flowers in my garden.Just checked as they sleep in groups in a flower head, but I think it's got too cold tonight. Spot the Monomorium minimum ,Little Black Ant #bees

Blotched Emerald stole the show but the supporting cast was good too with plurals of most species. 7nfy: Blood-vein, Dark Arches, Silver-ground Carpet, Crambus pascuella, Chrysoteuchia culmella, Celypha lacunana & Notocelia trimaculana. 67/34 Worcs VC37 🦋💚🍃
