A few of the mining bees seen at Badbury Rings today. Fast disappearing Ashy mining bee , Red tailed Mason bee and two I'm unsure of.

Not sure which bird laid this egg, the size of a duck egg found on a track at Badbury Rings. It wasn't there when I passed the first time.

These m&f Stonechats were sitting so close to each other so surely a pair. He had a present for her I like to think but she was more intent on preening.

So many singing Chiffchaffs at Badbury Rings but difficult to get one in the right light and close up today

Still a bit chilly for insects to be basking on leaves but did see an ichneumon fly and a few Green shield bugs at Badbury Rings today.
Also saw my first Grizzled Skipper but no way was it going to let me get a pic, and after it flew I just couldn't find it again 🙄

Spotted this white butterfly in my garden while having lunch indoors. It kindly hung around while I grabbed my camera , put some shoes on and went outside and down steps to photograph it from a different angle. It was worth the effort, my first Green-veined White this year.😊

My first bombylius discolor, Dotted bee-fly in my garden today.A very active insect ,not stopping for more than a second on each flower. Have had better pics !😅

Lots of Red Mason bees in my garden at present, one doing a very good impression of a stripey Bee-fly from a distance.😀

A very quick walk around the woods behind St Stephen's Church, Pamphill this morning hoping the bluebells were still glorious ,and they were.
Birds singing but hiding, my 1st Spk Wood this year and a few Grey-patched Mining bees also firsts.
