Over 950 pple in Uganda have contracted conjunctivitis - red eye disease in 2024. This disease is preventable, but if untreated, can lead to blindness. To Improve decision-making, World Health Organization (WHO) advocated for integration of eye health indicators in health mgt info systems. # #WorldHealthDay
.World Health Organization (WHO) & Makerere School of Public Health initiated discussions on the possibilities of qualifying the School as a WHO Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) in #Uganda . WHOCCs are institutions that work with WHO to perform research & provide training in furthering the health agenda.

Last month, over 80 healthcare workers in #Uganda were trained on addressing Ebola survivors' clinical, mental health & psychosocial challenges. The training was conducted in #Mityana by Ministry of Health- Uganda & World Health Organization (WHO) with support from EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺. #MyHealthMyRight
In #Uganda , over 240 people contract TB every day. To ensure all people in #Uganda are protected from TB, WHO Uganda & partners supported the 2022 CAST-TB Campaign, screening over 2.8 million households with 40,000 cases diagnosed, among others.
