AHF Uganda Cares is conducting a 3day training for Community Power Voices
The training will empower these leaders to advocate for quality healthcare services in their communities by engaging in advocacy & activism at the community, district & national level

Today with support from AHF Uganda Cares we presented a Position paper on the State of HIV/AIDs in Uganda to the HIV Committee in Parliament Of Uganda with recommendations on improvement of Policies, services, taxes imposed that affect HIV prevention from grassroot level to country level

Recommendations to reduce HIV stigma and discrimination .!

I)Promote sexuality education in schools & communities to provide accurate information about HIV transmission, prevention & treatment

ii)Need to establish peer support programs for YPLHIV to connect with each other.

Despite significant progress in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, stigma and discrimination still persist, especially among young people.

Fear of judgment and rejection often prevents individuals from seeking testing, treatment, and support services.

AHF Uganda Cares together with AFRICAN YOUTH DEVELOPMENT LINK (AYDL) , Joy for Children and Reach A Hand Uganda are meeting with the Parliamentary Committee on HIV/AIDS to present a position paper on the alarming statistics of new HIV infections especially among adolescents girls and young women

PrEP prevents one from acquiring HIV.
However it is important to also prioritize condom use for double protection from STIs (HIV, syphilis, gonorrhoea) and unplanned pregnancies.
