Venus class enjoyed participating in #RSEday today. We ‘launched into kindness’ by making a handprint wreath celebrating our class friendships and making kindness flowers. We thought about all the ways we can be kind to one another JFK Special School ⭐️

Safer Schools visited JFK Special School & gave a presentation for careers week. They engaged with 40 pupils, who had fun trying on all the different types of police uniforms, & looking around a marked police vehicle. One of the pupils made a lovely thank you card for the officers.

A big thank you to London Fire Brigade for visiting our North Woolwich site this week as part of Careers Week! Pupils absolutely loved exploring the fire truck and shooting the hose. Pupils then enjoyed an Attention Autism session exploring the topic of fire and safety equipment. 🚒🧯

JFK pupils very much enjoyed the Bubble Show today and pupils at JFK Stratford are excited for their visit tomorrow.

The pupils in Maple class have had a great first week back. We’ve enjoyed getting to know each other through intensive interaction, sensory play and attention autism. Pupils have even started showing fantastic spontaneous communication 👏🏼 excited for the year ahead! JFK Special School

This afternoon, my colleague and I held some CPD on social stories. It was great to have such high engagement from our colleagues and hear about their experiences of using social stories to support our young people #socialstories JFK Special School

Super proud of one of my students today. He is starting to explore and tolerate different resources to support his regulation which is so fantastic to see. Today, he engaged with a light up sensory toy for 10 minutes independently to self regulate, absolutely amazing 🤩

Maple class supported odd socks day today for anti-bullying week. Pupils participated in a bucket session where they decorated odd socks using sensory materials and learnt about the importance of being kind to one another. JFK Special School

All about the green zone! Today we explored the zones of regulation through bucket and sensory exploration. In this sensory tray, we have different green textures, a mirror to explore their own happy faces and visuals to develop pupils understanding. JFK Special School
