Had the ol John Deere 4430 running the new I&J 15ft roller crimper last night. Planted corn in some triticale clover vetch mix. Other field is barley clover and rapeseed.

Corn starting come thru pretty good now. Vetch and clovers laid down good but the oats popped right back up when rolled.

Total loss of winter crops at with last weeks hailstorm. Farmers around hear had high hope until last week that they might harvest a decent crop this year, but devastated with the storm. My plots have no cover left, but a lot of earthworms 🪱 on the surface.

Observation of field split half Cereal rye. Planted green on 4/28. Terminated on 5/5.
Precipitation since plant 6.2 inches. Emergence slightly better on covercrop side. Growth stage V1 slightly advanced on covercrop side.
