On a cold April Monday in 1917, over 15,000 Canadian soldiers stormed uphill through mud and machine gun fire to capture #VimyRidge .
Today, on #VimyRidge Day, we honour the courage of all the soldiers and Canadian Army Medical Corp who answered the call to serve.
Sadly, Yarmouth's own are represented in the casualties in all 4 Divisions that fought @ #VimyRidge :

Asa Quick of Maple Creek #Saskatchewan served with the 10th Battalion CEF in France. He joined the unit on 7th April, 1917. He was killed two days later in the attack on #VimyRidge . #WWI #FWW

The Canadian Corps in its 1st battle as a complete corps earned a victory where no other Allied nation could.
The cost was 3958 dead, 7004 wounded.
