It also has the only affordable preschool in the area hence why it had a 70% increase in demand in just over a year. 🙄

Been leafletting and many agree with us about Brighton & Hove Labour Party's failure to Save Bright Start Nursery, Brighton & protect schools: If you're shutting schools due to low birthrates & making it harder to access #childcare those rates will keep dropping & more schools will need to shut. It's short-sighted 🤦

Bella Sankey emailed me last year to ask if Save Bright Start Nursery, Brighton would be interested in a visit to show The Labour Party's 'intention to prioritise #EarlyYears .' But in less time than it takes to have a baby, Brighton & Hove Labour Party are shutting the site!

Completely disingenuous stuff from Brighton & Hove Labour Party - Save Bright Start Nursery, Brighton has not been 'saved' - their current offering will not be provided - how is this 'saved'?

Labour seem more concerned about the history of the Council's balance sheet than actually protecting services that people use *now* .... The last budget protected Bright Start Nursery --- @BHLabour's budget is cutting it...It's really that simple.

It's very frustrating to once again hear Save Bright Start Nursery, Brighton is being cut because of the building after being told it wasn't the reason by Brighton & Hove City Council officers. Nursery places would boost the local economy more than consultants Brighton & Hove Labour Party/Bella Sankey. Lack of affordable childcare is a huge constraint on the labour market.
