The Govt has responded with answers to questions by Dr Luke Evans MP MP on who holds responsibility when the GP referrals via SPoA Advice & Guidance are rejected. Never guess who they are making the fall guys for patients who are rejected ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Why are doctors being replaced by non-doctors? ANPs and ACPs do not have the knowledge, qualifications, training or experience to replace doctors. It's unregulated And it's unsafe

Dr Luke Evans MP As a retired 35 year GP +ex Vice Chair of NICE I am at a loss over the lack of evidence (not) underpinning this policy, the lack of accountability in the decisions made , the waste of time for all, particularly the patients , the poor clinical governance+ poor risk assessment

When- as a specialist- you see a patient who says something negative about their GP? Don't smile and go along with it. Explain why it's difficult for GP to give them the access and care they need And how we work to a narrow area of expertise compared to the broad area they do.

A CLINICAL DECISION EVERY 17 SECONDS This is unsustainable Instead of the quacks occupying rooms in a GP practice we need more GPs. We have thousands of unemployed GPs!! Please make as much noise as you can - like/repost/comment/quote etc Wes Streeting will have to hear us

Jo Franklin I think there is a natural tendency to speak lesser of GPs. That cascades everywhere- and results in national policies accordingly. As it feeds the narrative of 'lesser trained' or 'lazy' for the public. Or 'anyone can do that job' It's where the Royal College of General Practitioners have much MUCH to do

General Practice at risk Email from Operose Health is a sign of things to come, creeping corporatisation of general practice, which will end in worse care There has been a significant decline in GP partners as costs rise & no funds Operose Health Ex CEO Samantha Jones at DHSC

Daniel Lismore When I finished my surgical training in the NHS (about 15 years ago), I went to the US for a fellowship. The programme director liked my skills and offered a fast track to move to the US full time. I was extremely torn, as with the private health insurance system I would make

Your GP has studied for 10+ years. A PA has studied for 2 years. Wes Streeting wants all GP ( studied all those years) referrals to be accepted/rejected by a PA( studied 2 years)! Where the hell is the sense in that๐Ÿ˜ก

More lies!! - NHS waiting lists manipulated - GP referrals blocked ๐Ÿšซ - Unknowing pts kicked off via text msg - ยฃยฃยฃs wasted on stupid schemes ARRS & Pharm 1st - Dr replacement continues in full force - Pt access to proper medical care is worse under Labour than Tory austerity.

This letter is important but only a small win for patients No targets - means if there appears to be it can be challenged Right to refer means Jessโ€™s rule applies Named A&G means legal accountability but GPs can decline Onward referrals Raising concerns - everyone must do it

This is particularly true in rural communities A practice a week has closed under The Labour Party Wes Streeting GP practices have been allowed to fail Coniston in the Lakes nearly lost its only practice this year Patients/Media/Tim Farron had to fight to save it Shouldnโ€™t need to

The government now need pressurising to stop the replacement of Drs. PAs/ACPs/ANPs with just 2yrs training, unregulated & haven't studied medicine A scandal that the media have chosen to ignore. We want Drs not substitutes. Zack Polanski Diane Abbott Clive Lewis MP The Guardian.

I would argue that there is not a shortage of doctors but there is a shortage of employed doctors theguardian.com/society/2026/aโ€ฆ

Medical training exists for a reason. It is not safe nor appropriate to use other roles in place of a doctor. Using non-medics to cover medical rotas is unacceptable. Just as I should never be allowed to work as a pharmacist, nurse, physio etc without the relevant training.

Nurses and other ACPs (physios, podiatrists, paramedics, etc.) must stick to their base professions. I am glad that the mainstream media has started to discuss this dangerous hybrid role that puts patient safety at risk.
