Medical training exists for a reason. It is not safe nor appropriate to use other roles in place of a doctor. Using non-medics to cover medical rotas is unacceptable. Just as I should never be allowed to work as a pharmacist, nurse, physio etc without the relevant training.

Nurses and other ACPs (physios, podiatrists, paramedics, etc.) must stick to their base professions. I am glad that the mainstream media has started to discuss this dangerous hybrid role that puts patient safety at risk.
