I have the dreaded winter lurgy. The silver lining is I get to sit in bed and read A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER by @BaylissJenni It is such a magical read, I'm fully invested.

I cannot fully put into words how WONDERFUL this book is. It was my constant companion this week while I lay in bed with the winter lurgy. It was heartwarming, sweet, funny, and magical. Highly recommend.

Nothing like a few Guiness and baby Guiness to inspire a book idea 🤪

My new (very nascent) idea has had the Emily Glenister seal of approval. January is for hunkering down but this January for me is with a notebook.

Just been on a two hour walk with a friend who is a subject specialist in something relevant to my new work in progress. We came up with some AMAZING ideas. I am so bloody excited to start writing, really feels like it will be my best yet.

Goes on Facebook to find good surnames for characters, gets distracted by a writers' Facebook group, leaves Facebook forgetting why I was there in the first place. Good....

I started NO LIFE FOR A LADY by Hannah Dolby yesterday and avoided all activity until I finished today (I'm on holiday so that was more doable). I loved every line. Warm, laugh out loud funny, and utterly fascinating. I'm now overjoyed to find out Hannah's book 2 is coming soon.

I've been in a real writing and reading slump recently...only to discover that my slump was in fact created because I wasn't writing or reading. So only one thing to do, carry on with writing the book I'm loving!

A well overdue shout-out to Samantha Hastings 🖤☕️🎩 for her book A NOVEL DISGUISE. I absolutely loved it and very much hope there more novels in the series. Historical cosy murder mysteries have stolen my heart. Looking at Hannah Dolby here too.
