Headline writers have such a hard time describing court decisions. The top headline is the correct one. It tells us how the decision impacts regular folks. The bottom one is needlessly technical, making it hard to know what happened.⁦Jay Rosen⁩ ⁦The New York Times

Humboldt County can’t claw back these documents now that they’ve been published. The county is seeking an unconstitutional prior restraint. The Los Angeles City Attorney is recommending that the City pay $300,000 in attorneys fees for filing an illegal claw back lawsuit.

So, again, the CONSTITUTIONAL way to bring the Supreme Court to heel is to expand it, THEN pass your ethics bills and term limit bills, which will then be upheld by the newly expanded Court.

Great story by our client Katey Rusch ⁦UC Berkeley IRP⁩ about hidden agreements that let bad cops hide misconduct & get new jobs. But these are PUBLIC RECORDS if they pay cops $$. Great work by students at ⁦⁦UC Irvine School of Law⁩ in getting the records! sfchronicle.com/projects/2024/…
