On Friday I walked a portion of the coming GRTC Pulse route through Southside with Charles T. Brown, MPA, CPD, RVA Rapid Transit, Partnership for Smarter Growth & Richmond VA DPW. Lots of infrastructure improvements are needed, but there is so much potential for this to be a thriving corridor (once again)! 🧵

HAPPENING NOW: VCU Students are holding an encampment anniversary event on the Cabell Library lawn. They say it’s a casual event, not an encampment. Student affairs asked them to leave via this leaflet. They gave them a 15 minute warning but police haven’t shown up. Stay tuned

Ok so the blankets are back. From what I’m hearing there is confusion around the blanket rule. Some of the blankets have protest rhetoric written on them - and are therefore considered banners if nobody is sitting on them. More police are showing up.
