April 20, 2022-HATCH WATCH DAY #1 🧐🥳 Today is 33 days after Sue laid her first egg on March 18. Since we can't see into the nest to see pips, we'll focus on hatches. In previous years, hatches have occurred from 33 to 40 days. We'll watch the parents' cues to confirm a hatch.

APRIL 27, 2022-HAPPY HATCH DAY! 🥳 Sue brought a vole into the nest today at 7:34 so we can finally say that hatch has occurred or is soon to occur! Today is 40 days after Egg #1 was laid and 37 days for egg #2 so it's possible Egg #2 has hatched as well, or is close to hatching.

April 28, 2022-HAPPY FIRST FEEDING!! 😋🥳 Otto delivered a bird at 5:56, then a vole at 6:48 and Sue gave the chick(s) their first feeding at 7:35! I believe two chicks have hatched, A22 and B22, because Sue was looking back and forth while allopreening. Enjoy your first meal! 😁

April 29, 2022-FIRST GLIMPSES OF BOBBLEHEADS!! 🥳 Here we see at least two adorable white "bobbleheads" popping up for this morning's feeding!!! Sue started to feed A22, B22, and possibly C22 at 5:58 and this is a short clip of the 10 minute feeding. So adorable!😍😍🤩🤩🤩

May 2, 2022-WELCOME TO THE WORLD C22!! 🥳 And now there are THREE!! C22 arrived around 23:25 last night based upon Sue's behavior but a hatch could not be confirmed until this morning when we saw THREE fluffy bobbleheads pop up!! One more to go!! Check video at 06:18:34! 🥰

May 4, 2022-WELCOME TO THE WORLD D22!! 🥳 And now there are FOUR!!!! We believe D22 arrived sometime earlier today, on Day 38, because by the time we spotted it, its head was all fluffy and dry as it popped up during a feeding with its three bobblehead siblings!!🤩🤩🤩🤩

May 18, 2022-Happy Two Week and Three Week Birthdays D22 and A22! 🥳 A22 is 21 days old, D22 is 14 days with B22 at 20 days and C22 at 17 days. Weight gain is primary in week three as they spend most of their of time eating and sleeping as their weight increases."

May 25, 2022-Happy Three Week and Four Week Birthdays D22 and A22! 🥳 Today A22 is 28 days old, D22 is 21 days with B22 at 27 days and C22 at 24 days. During the fourth week, weight gain declines, the nestling hawks begin feeding independently, and feather growth takes over.

June 10, 2022-HAPPY FLEDGE WATCH-DAY NUMBER ONE! A22 is 44 days old and considered ready for fledge based upon our previous years minimum fledge age of 44 days. Five dark tail bands are usually needed for fledge. A22 and B22 both have five tail bands, we'll see who goes first!
