This is NOT ok. These can be life changing, with faecal incontinence and pain a potential and not rare result. We are letting women down so badly

The Facebook group Jennifer used has been taken down. It said it didn't give medical advice but seemed to encourage rejecting medical help at every turn. google.com/amp/s/www.dail…

This is the 5th independent inquiry into an English maternity unit. Morecambe Bay, Shrewsbury & Telford, East Kent, Nottingham and now Leeds. The need for a national statutory public inquiry has never been stronger. Wes Streeting Fleur Anderson MP Maternity Safety Alliance

Was our panel on the niche topic of infant feeding the most controversial at Academy of Ideas #BattleFest? It was definitely a fiery debate! Thanks to Ella Whelan, Claire Fox & Parenting studies for ensuring important issues like this get a platform for discussion.

"By this stage Jen was not thinking she was high risk because she was back with the midwives" Dividing childbirth between midwives & obstetricians has been at the heart of harmful maternity policies for 30 years. When will you act? Wes Streeting google.com/amp/s/www.manc…

So what is happening with the Amos investigation ? Two of the 14 trusts having their own parallel inquiries but with scope and chairs to be decided. Another trust removed because of a (long running) police investigation. Some families feeling sidelined. And a report in 2 months?

An excellent critique of "breast is best" mantra from Dr Ruth Ann Harpur. Well worth the read. As she says "debunking mantras requires more effort than chanting them." In my view, it's beyond time that we applied scientific rigour to policies that are harming mums & babies.

Julian Hartley should have never been given the role of CEO at the CQC. So many families were failed during his tenure, mine included & from the start of my CQC case I had no belief that action would be taken because that action would have been against their CEO.

🔥 🔥 🔥 Formula = £300 to provide an infant with their full nutritional needs for nearly 6 months NCT classes = £300 to convince you not to use formula (now in more friendly and more subtly coercive ways).
