Hello November 👋 Check out these artworks with 'November' in the title 👉 artuk.org/discover/curat… 'November Morning, Knostrop Hall, Leeds' by John Atkinson Grimshaw (1836–1893) 📷 Shipley Art Gallery
One nibbled wing and colours faded, this Common Darter North Cave Wetlands is hanging in there and hoping for a bit of light & warmth today (as am I). Elsewhere: Red-crested pochard
Yellow Fieldcap mushrooms (Bolbitius titubans) in the maize field North Cave Wetlands. Can see why it also gets called the ‘sunny side up’ mushroom 😀
A great morning of mycology at North Cliffe Wood thanks to Yorkshire Wildlife Trust - follow us on Bluesky 🦋 🍄🟫🍄🟫🍄🟫
Autumn is enjoying some proper lighting today North Cave Wetlands, and looking all the better for it. Elsewhere: peregrine
Lovely end to the day North Cave Wetlands, only improved by good views of a bittern from turret hide 🙂
The Wintering Waterbird Indicator has been published today. Thank you to all of our Wetland Bird Survey and #GSMP_UK volunteers who have helped collect this data to produce the latest species trends. Read more about the other wild bird indicators: gov.uk/government/sta…
Not that much positive in the updated national statistics 'Wild bird populations in the UK and England, 1970 to 2023' out today☹️gov.uk/government/sta… But at least North Cave Wetlands plays some part towards ongoing habitat creation Yorkshire Wildlife Trust - follow us on Bluesky 🦋
A frosty morning North Cave Wetlands Elsewhere redwings through all the hedges (I’m also increasingly elsewhere…🦋steven.oliver.bsky.social)
Great to see the continuing development of North Cave Wetlands through the work of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust - follow us on Bluesky 🦋 ywt.org.uk/news/yorkshire…
Not a big one for lists, but some days North Cave Wetlands are worth recording! Great white egret, sparrowhawk, Bewick swans, pink-footed geese, curlew, kingfisher, peregrine, marsh harrier, peregrine versus marsh harrier, little owl, bittern.😀😀😀
Excellent to see the work of Hull York Medical School through UKWPMED recognised in this report 👏👏👏hyms.ac.uk/medicine/apply… Whilst there is still much to do, good to see real change over the last decade in response to inequities in access to medical education.
