Very sad to hear this news. I have so many happy memories of working with Sir Andrew at the BBC Proms in the 1990s. A great musician and a lovely man. Time to put on the slow movement of his BBC Symphony Orchestra & Chorus Elgar 2 in his memory. RIP.

So if Manchester United get past Coventry City tomorrow (& obvs I hope they don’t) it’ll be 1st time since 1885 that same teams contest #FACup Final in successive seasons. 1884/5 was Blackburn Rovers v Queen's Park FC, who were expelled in 1887 for being Scottish. So it’s a first for English teams!
