Children from disadvantaged backgrounds are being held back from securing places at top universities because of a “myriad” of barriers, according to a new report.

Work experience at my kids’ school seems to be reliant on parents pulling strings in their own jobs. Doesn’t work if your kid wants to branch out and do something you don’t do or if you have no strings to pull.
