A lovely afternoon visiting wildlife championing farmers in the west Suffolk countryside. Barn Owl second broods doing well including these two healthy brothers. Another female less than a mile away too! Suffolk Bird Group

Out topping up some of our local feeders in West Suffolk this weekend. This Robin, with 6 others, recognised the seed barrow but was the only one happy to visit my hand. The others were raiding the bags and buckets in the barrow. Gotta love nature! Suffolk Bird Group

We’ve gone green! 2023 seasons West Suffolk colours seem to be working. Initial checks today showing things are a little behind. Plenty of food available though! Biggest surprise was finding a Tawny Owl incubating. Big thanks to Philip Spraggins Suffolk Bird Group

The AfS elves have been busy despite recent disappointing political decisions. This batch of 60 Sbricks for a premier East Anglian house builder at one of their Norfolk developments. A real commitment to assist the recovery of these birds. Action for Swifts SaveOurSuffolkSwifts #swiftbrick 👏

A visit to our St. John’s swift colony here in Bury St. Edmunds to check status. Most chicks fledged but still 20 in residence. That’s 86 chicks from this one church in 2023! SaveOurSuffolkSwifts Bury St Edmunds Swift Group Suffolk Bird Group #Swifts

A little design change for the 2024 BO boxes, returning to felt roofs. Only just finished the first coat of paint and they’ve both been sold already! Great mornings effort with Philip Spraggins

Excited we have these up just before the younger #swifts fly home. Hope we get viewings of these made-to-measure east-facing new builds with all mod cons, decent proportions, tasteful decor, welcoming swift sounds playing and friendly neighbours... #urbannature #saveourswifts

Back in the Baltic! Following a trip to Latvia in May, I’ve returned to Estonia this week. The weather has been somewhat mixed but the evening skies stunning, some might say apocalyptic. You can’t help but feel the sense of tension. The temperature swings just add to the drama.

Here again for another autumn visit with Lee & Cathy Gregory to assist the folks at Kabli with their phenomenal project monitoring migrating birds. There is a huge amount of effort involved with long days & a great team. Big thanks to Lee for letting me use his fab image earlier.

So, Karl Friedrick tower mark 3, don’t ask about tower two, sadly ran short of construction materials. TBC Personally, a little concerned about the west wing at level 5!
