Extreme weather events every single day now. All of this and much more happened within one month only! India, Spain, Turkey, USA, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Morocco, Croatia, China, Mexico. The list goes on… Why are the news channels not full of it? #ClimateBreakdown

Take that in. Then try wrapping your head around the fact that we’re only seeing the beginning of a destabilising planet, while remembering that GHG emissions are still rising and the companies largely causing this are making record profits. A bit concerning, don’t you think?

With all the devastating climate news around it would be easy to slip into despair But the antidote to despair is action, so here are some thoughts on what you can do

“99% of trop corals may be gone by 2050. If so, coral reefs will be the 1st global ecosystem to succumb to CC. Only thing standing in the way of remaining reefs turning to “Ghost Reefs” is humanity’s desire, or lack thereof, to stop self-inflicted warming” wfla.com/weather/climat…

Extreme heat on the edges, esp. all across the South. The 1’s stand for the hottest month of July on record. But it’s been quite cool in the middle. A few spots too 10 coolest. Not easy to accomplish in a heated climate. But the “cool” has not been nearly as extreme as the heat.

Biden’s refusal to declare a climate emergency & his eagerness to push new pipelines & new drilling – even faster than Trump – goes against science, goes against common sense, goes against LIFE on Earth Joe Biden MUST declare a climate emergency theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Carbon capture and storage has been promised for 20 years. It has never materialised and never will. Its sole purpose is to create the impression that oil and gas drilling is compatible with a habitable planet. Any politician promoting it is working for the fossil fuel industry.

End private jets. Just fucking end them. And declare climate emergency already. Stop fucking around with irreversible Earth breakdown. Let's end this heat nightmare and dismantle the fossil fuel industry that is causing it.

July 2023 was the hottest month on record, according to our global temperature analysis. Overall, July was 0.43°F (0.24°C) warmer than any other July in NASA Earth's record, and it's likely due to human activity. Details: go.nasa.gov/3OTWMh7

In South Korea, they've covered this protected bike lane with solar panels - cyclists are protected from the sun, isolated from traffic, and it produces clean energy. We have so many solutions. Implement them. #ActOnClimate #Climate #energy #renewables #GreenNewDeal

I am sick and tired of people standing around uninteresting in doing all they can to protect the natural world. This is planet Earth's 6th mass extinction event, and it is entirely preventable. Where is the anger? Where is the bravery? Where are the guts?
