Operation Market Garden began #OTD in 1944 with the 'Airborne Carpet' being dropped between Eindhoven and Arnhem, and 30 Corps began advancing from the bridgehead on the border towards the bridges being taken by Airborne forces. #WW2 #Arnhem80

Recently, I was given an envelope of photos found in a hedge on a Cornish lane in 1997. After local appeal, articles in the paper etc no owner was found. Some very interesting photos of service in Russia and France. Interesting piece of history and a village mystery!
