My appeal to negotiators & ministers at the #COP29 climate conference: Soften hard lines. Navigate a path through your differences. Keep your eyes on the bigger picture. Never forget that the future of humanity is at stake.

Carbon Markets (#Article6) Undermining Ambition ❌ Open door for #DangerousDistractions (removals) in 6.4  ❌ No #HumanRights in Article 6.2  ❌ Accountability for harm or emissions reductions overestimates in 6.2 ❌ No transparency in 6.2

The overall picture at #COP29 is bleak. Countries are backtracking on human rights obligations across the board. This includes developed countries’ obligations to provide public #ClimateFinance at scale.  ✊️⚖️ No #ClimateJustice without #HumanRights.
