While we wait for the next milestones of Copernicus EU #Sentinel2 C journey to space, here’s how the liftoff looked like from here at Europe’s spaceport😍

ESA’s launcher tracking antenna in Australia has spotted #Sentinel2 C, still attached to its Vega upper stage, rising above the horizon. It’s not quite time to celebrate yet: we will monitor separation but we will not receive any data from the satellite until it passes over

With the launch of #Sentinel2 C, @ESA has once again delivered a significant success for Europe. Reflecting on the early Sentinel launches starting from 2014, it's remarkable to see how far we've come. In the meantime, Copernicus has evolved into a globally leading Earth

These first results are excellent and l want to congratulate everyone involved in developing the satellite, which is already demonstrating that the New Space approach of building such a mission will certainly complement our traditionally-built weather satellites.

It's official: @copernicusEu #Sentinel1B completed its disposal process – which included lowering its orbit and passivating its systems to ensure re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere within 25 years. More info on this delicate but essential procedure: esa.int/Applications/O…
