Ace squinted, though not without a trace of amusement. That was a new one, and at this point in his life Ace didn't suppose he was capable of hearing new ones. "Good one, kiddo."

"Well gee, it's lucky a hotshot like yourself got to it before someone else did," Ace remarked before stepping over a logging and sitting next to Jake. "Don't tell me that's all you did while we were away."

"Hey, patrick estrela 🎰," Ace started, casually shuffling a deck in his hands. "You know how to play Blackjack?"

"Hey, hey, hey! Stop that!" He confiscated the wood and chucked it behind her, into the woods. "You get enough of that outside the camp, don't ya?"

"Good to see some appreciation around here," he said, flashing his award-winning (and sometimes punch-winning) grin. His eyes went down, noting her odd stance. "The hell are you doing, hitting yourself with a plank like that?"

"I'll never understand why you don't come and sit with the rest of us, @OfQuickandQuiet," Ace commented, seeing that she had returned from what he guessed to be her nightly run.

Plopped down next to @VictimofNOED, hoping for entertainment of some sort. Bill had confiscated all four of his decks and hid them, and not one soul was kind enough to tell him where they'd been hidden.
